Business Intelligence with i-Con Analytics

Business Intelligence with i-Con Analytics

The key to competitive advantage is intelligent information. The kind of information that will enable your company to make informed, sound business decisions. i-Con Analytics turns your organizations’ raw data into actionable information for business intelligence.

How?

When using the i-Con Integration Platform, every transaction performed by any of the organizations’ i-Con interfaces is stored in the i-Con database. This creates an invaluable information resource for analysing the organizaton and how it is interacting with customers… Without having to access data from multiple sources.

However, having near real-time access to the vast quantities of information in the database only the beginning. Because data is stored in the i-Con database, it has common formats: keys, data models and access methods, meaning that the tool can easily be configured to provide business users with custom tables and fields, bespoke dashboards and reports that turn raw data into actionable information.

It provides more technically advanced users with the ability to configure master tables, allowing the extraction and analysis of data flowing through the ESB, and in turn enabling better informed business decisions. As the i-Con Analytics Enterprise Tool creates a data warehouse that is separate from operational systems, users can run reports of any size without degrading operational system performance.

Information provided by i-Con Analytics can demonstrate the strengths and weaknesses of a business in an easy-to-understand format. This enables more appropriate investment in infrastructure and staff, as well as the following benefits:

  • Optimise internal business processes
  • Increase operational efficiency;
  • Improve access to decision making information
  • Identify and develop new revenue streams
  • Build sustainable competitive advantages

Support Analytics

The i-Con Support Analytics tool is an online system that has been designed with simplicity in mind.

This reduces turn-around times in resolving production incidents and general troubleshooting – and hence the number of calls made to second-line support. Support staff are able to search for logs or system failures by simply applying filters, increasing efficiency and reducing costs. As a web-based system that has been designed to be used effectively with little or no training, i-Con Support Analytics provides support staff with transactional data at their fingertips when they need it.

Because Support Analytics allows access to sensitive transactional data, it also has strong, embedded security features. An Active Directory (AD) group can be set up to allow only users within the group to access Support Analytics data.

Support staff therefore do not need to have any query writing or programming knowledge – and by having access to transactional data in real time, they can help resolve incidents faster than when using conventional analytics tools.

The i-Con Support Analytics tool is a must have for organizations supporting their own solutions.

How it Works

The Interface

The interface allows the user to select the environment to be queried as well as the projects and components associated with the selected i-Con interface. The user can then select the date and time range (up to the millisecond) and provide a keyword to refine results. A filter can be used to either include or exclude all results containing the users chosen keyword. The user can also view the flow of the selected i-Con interface.

i-Con Test Harness

The i-Con Test Harness exists to provide a better and more efficient service, enabling our customers to reduce their time to market. As the broker of our customers’ integration solutions we have control over where systems send messages, as well as the content of those messages. This has enabled ProSolutions to develop a product that can be used to shorten project test cycles.

When the i-Con Test Harness is applied during the Development (Dev) and End-To-End (ETE) environments, we are able to increase efficiency and significantly reduce test cycles in a System Integration Testing (SIT) environment.

This significantly shortens integration testing cycles normally encountered when Provider systems are not available during the DEV and ETE stages of a project. An essential tool for evaluating new systems and applications prior to going live, the i-Con Test Harness ensures a reduced project cycle. In addtion, the Test Harness is automated, easily configurable and an ideal solution to stand in for software units within the software stack during the testing stages of a new or existing project.

While it can be configured in any way that best suits the project, there are essentially two configurations to be selected as the starting point: Stub and Deliver. These configurations enable movement of the harness up and down the software stack, depending on which function it is needed to cater for.

Stub

The Stub configuration can assist with providing quick solutions to:

  • configure request/response pairs to expose RESTful endpoints within seconds
  • provide test data for front-end applications by setting up Microsoft Messaging Queues
  • serving test data via TCP/IP to front-end applications
  • stand in for i-Con Web Services logical development via Microsoft Messaging Queue request/response pairs.

Deliver

The Deliver configuration can assist with providing quick solutions to:

  • test RESTful/SOAP services by mocking the front-end application
  • performance test back-end services via RESTful/SOAP services
  • automate preconfigured unit tests to validate system readiness
